EVENT MAPS & ORIENTATION Ecuador is a country about the size of Colorado, located along the earth's equatorial band on the western edge of the South American continent and bordered by Colombia to the North, and Peru to the South and East. About 16 million people live in Ecuador and 17 indigenous ethnic groups are represented.
TENA is about 5 hours southeast of Quito by bus, and offers travelers a variety of good restaurants, and comfortable accomodations with modern facilities. Tena is a great place to start to explore the Amazon. Tena serves as the main base for the Napo Festival. PUERTO NAPO is 10 minutes south of Tena on the Napo River and is the main event site for Saturday's daytime activities. PUERTO MISAHUALLI is 40 minutes southeast of Tena on the Napo River and is the main event site for Saturday evening's program and the start of the activities on Sunday. There are excellent food and lodging options in Puerto Misahualli. LA PUNTA DE AHUANO is about 1.5 hours southeast of Tena on the Napo River and is the main event site for Sunday's activities. |
